Data we collect

• Buyer email and name (so we can send a receipt and updates)
• Recipient name and address (so we can publish the greeting page and post the certificate)
• The greeting message and any photo the buyer uploads
• Standard payment processing data — handled by Stripe, never stored by us

Where it’s stored

On Australian servers in Sydney. We use commercial cloud infrastructure with at-rest encryption. We never sell, license, or share your data.

WHOIS privacy

Domain ownership records are usually public. We turn on private contact details automatically — only our company appears in public WHOIS records, never the recipient’s name or address.

Cookies

We use cookies for two things only — keeping your in-progress gift saved while you move between stages, and remembering you on your dashboard once you claim your domain. No tracking cookies. No third-party advertising cookies.

Marketing

We email you about your specific order — receipt, status updates, claim notifications. That’s it. No newsletter, no marketing email, no follow-up campaigns unless you explicitly opt in.

Your rights

You can request a copy of every piece of data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@giftyour.nameand we’ll respond within five business days.

Australian Privacy Principles

We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The full APP-compliant policy is being drafted and will replace this summary before any public launch.
